As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for both defining and implementing the technical strategies of the team. You will take full ownership of strategic decisions and ensure that the plans are executed successfully. Your role is to motivate and guide the team, making sure that the necessary actions are taken to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement strategies: Work closely with stakeholders to design technical strategies and ensure their successful execution through clear planning and hands-on involvement.
  • Ownership of decisions: Be fully responsible for the outcomes of strategic decisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Proactively solve problems: Anticipate potential issues and challenges to prevent roadblocks and ensure smooth progress of projects. Act quickly to resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Team motivation and leadership: Lead by example, foster a positive work environment, and maintain team morale by offering guidance, feedback, and recognition.
  • Effective communication: Translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensure that everyone is aligned on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
  • Drive performance and execution: Make sure that things are moving forward and that obstacles are cleared, maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Startup culture mindset: Bring a hands-on approach, with a willingness to wear multiple hats and be involved at every stage of the project. Experience in fintech environments such as dLocal, PedidosYa, Prex, or MercadoLibre will be an advantage.

 

  • 2+ years of experience as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Engineering Lead in a startup environment, managing technical teams (e.g., developers, DevOps).
  • Proven experience with fintech projects or startups is a strong advantage.
  • Relevant expertise with Python/Django for backend development, and React for frontend development.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
  • Hands-on coding ability to unblock the team or address critical issues when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of AWS for cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working in hypergrowth, Series A or Series B fintech startups
  • Experience building Banking, Payments, Lending or Credit products
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Exposure to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence or machine learning
  • Ideal candidates will come from a startup or fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for leading teams to success.

The LATAM team is a key component to the company global strategy in the Latin American market. Their mission is to reduce the barriers faced by small and medium businesses by abstracting away the complexities of pricing risk and accessing liquidity. The LATAM team is responsible for building the technological products & infrastructure needed to launch new markets and process deals successfully throughout Latin America.
